I thought everyone might want to look over the web site of the company AVEI bought yesterday for $62 million.

They make polyurethane and latex catheters. They also have a stent line using Nitinol, including a bifurcated stent.

medicom.com

From what I can tell their AVEI bought them mainly for their stent designs which are certainly much further along than American BioMed's but our company has a more diverse product line. I could not find any significant patent information. I doubt that they have 27 patents like American BioMed. I know they don't have an atherectomy device like the OmniCath. I guess the point I am trying to make is that consolidation in the medical device industry is indeed alive and well.

As long as R&D moves forward at American BioMed they will remain a ripe take over candidate.

Go ABMI!

Regards, Jeff
