Thoughts on the "new" strategy.

Sun and HP are already on board the merced wagon. HP has great ties to corporate mgrs and Sun pretty much is the grandmama of hype. Both can beat sgi on price. With this strategy, sgi will be beat up even before they can move to windows NT to compete with compaq.

The mips spin off is good news. it means that sgi can start becoming a
software company. you are allowed to sell software that is bloated in
size, complexity and cost. SGI would fit right in. Nothing in Beluzzo's plans suggest junking the hardware. I was hoping he'd spin off Cray hardware or sell it to Lockheed or somebody.

i wanna sell, taking my losses. Anybody can convince me otherwise?
No technical b.s. please (that includes both "resistance" and
"100MHz bus"). SGI's problem is neither technology nor charting.
