Shorting anything in this market with good fundamentals is just plain stupid. Everyone wants to say "I shorted YHOO at the top. (I've got big balls). Assinine. People keep asking me, "What do you think of the market?". I tell them.. It doesn't matter what I think when $20billion a month is coming in! FIDO, MFS, Putnam, TROW all get paid for staying fully invested, not market timing and not market cap rotating. Jeff Vinik cost Fidelity 2-3 years of market share losses with his aggressive moves. Ned Johnson can't stand that. 401k investors won't stand for that! Look at the Brandywine fund and Foster Friess. The guy raises 70% cash in front of over $50 billion in mutual fund in flows in the next 4 months, and he loses $250mm in 3 months. This isn't a market issue.. its a business decision. The economy is good, cash flow is high, people are saving for retirement, interest rates are low, there aren't that many really good fundamental stories in the market and you're short them?! You (not you specifically Clam, Clam) deserve to lose money, I say. I'm off my soapbox.
