Without commenting on its merits (as I haven't read the book, that would be unfair. Sort of like Bob Dole condemning movies he never saw), you might want to look at this site:

You know, Richard, it does bother me when we argue as I consider you a friend and have great respect for your abilities and have learned much from you. However, I cannot bring myself to agree with your political viewpoints.
IMO, the final nail in Dole's coffin will be when the media starts reporting the eastern states, most of which will go to Clinton and people in the Western states decide it won't do any good and don't bother to vote. Is this fair? No, of course not, but unfortunately it is the way the cutthroat, have to have the story first, media works. It has nothing to do with being liberal media (although I agree it's heavily slanted that way) because if Dole were the front-runner I think early reporting would hurt Clinton.
As I have previously mentioned, I HATE the Electoral College system. It would be a travesty if Dole somehow got elected with say 40% of the vote while Clinton lost with (for arguments sake) 48%. However, I suspect that sometime in the future, a similar situation will occur and that will be what finally causes the demise of the Electoral College.
BTW, I loved the comment about the media being the lousy athletes. Given my two left feet, maybe I have a new career ahead of me <g>.
