From Yahoo Board:

Make no mistake about it, Flash is Macromedia's most important product offering, ever.

I have been using Flash to design sites since it was introduced, and let me tell you... Flash 3 addresses
almost all of the previous versions' faults. I downloaded it seconds after it was released last night, and it
is everything everyone hoped for and more.

When people ask me why Flash 2 hadn't caught on with a great majority of designers, I tell them this:
Flash, much like HTML,
was rushed to market before it was fully functional. In order to reap the benefits of first-mover
advantage in the
motion-graphics sector, Macromedia decided to plant the seed early and bank on the wow factor. It
was a good move on Macromedia's part
because it allowed ambitious, forward-looking designers to get a head start on everyone else and wow
the general public in the
process. The problem was, Flash 2 as an authoring tool was very incomplete. It lacked essential
command-keys and other time-saving
procedures. I compare it with trying to operate your web browser without a mouse. Yes, its that bad.

Flash 3 not only eliminates these concerns but adds amazing new, and somewhat unexpected features
including transparency, server-side templates, and advanced vector morphing. Make no mistake about
it, this is the future... the very near future.

If anyone has any doubts as to what can be done with Flash, check out this site:

It will blow you away.

As Flash comes into its own (within the next few months), new designers will find it easier to create
world-class sites of their own... and as far as current Flash 2 designers go, the "high-altitude training"
stage is now over. Its finally time to run the race.

P.S. It doesn't exactly hurt to have Microsoft, Netscape, and RealNetworks on your side either.

Cheers,

Mike
