Harold, most Venture Capital firms invest in companies before they become public, only in rare cases do they invest in public companies. When they do invest in a public company, it is rarely as passive investors, they see in such a company more than is on the surface and are presented with concrete " executable" plans for a turn around. They usually have quite a say on the future direction and often get a seat on the board of Directors to "protect" their interest.
