This board has been unusually quiet, wonder if anyone has a comment on the below. And on a good stock day (Another great internet day) Syquest was down. The only thing worse than dead money is lost money.

Japanese firms are gunning hard for this niche

Sanyo/Aiwa/Castlewood are coming out soon with the 2.16 Gigabyte Orb Syquest-destroyer.

according to:

castlewoodsystems.com

"Castlewood products are manufactured by Trans Capital, a Malaysian technology manufacturing company with processes that are ISO 9000 certified. Castlewood products will be distributed and sold around the world through a variety of channels including retail, mail order, commercial distribution, value-added resellers and system integrators and original equipment manufacturers."

To all those who say that Castlewood has no manufacturing capability, here is proof to the contrary. Trans Capital is a HUGE manufacturer of drives in Malaysia. They are the real deal.

The Japanese evidently mean business. And they WILL steal market share away from Syquest very soon. Plain and simple- Enough to do incredible damage to the Syquest bottom line.
