Well here we are at post 500 already. I just happened to join this thread when I ran across a post regarding "simply buying when stochastics are under 20 and selling over 80". I was immediately alerted because I know how much trouble that got me into. There's a lot more to it than that. I also hope Roger isn't upset that I pretty much took over his thread.
Its been my goal here to try to help people NOT lose money (including myself). Jason has helped me put together a list of prior posts that will help all of us. This provides a good index (especially for me because I am constantly tempted to not to follow my own rules). That almost always results in losing money. There were some other useful posts that I didn't run across such as support and resistance levels. Hope everybody is getting a lot out of this and isn't annoyed too much by all my typing errors.

For Dave S. My books on the Subject probably aren't that great. I learned everything from the school of hard knocks. Some exceptions are Martin Pring'g book on Market Momentum, Marting Pring's Book Technical Analysis Explained, William Blau's Momentum, Direction and Divergence, Curtis Arnold's PPS Trading System, Jake Bernsetin's The Compleat Day Trader, William Eng's The Day Trader's Manual, and Mc Millan's Options As a Strategic Investment. On Software, I'm an expert with Windows On Wall Street--all versions.
