RE -- We do not know at this point if it was operator error or some failure of the hardware and software. All the more reason for CISCO's customers, ISP's and Telcos with Cisco equipment to be VERY VERY CONCERNED!!! Furthermore, if some bug (hardware or software) or operator error, can take an entire network down, there is something FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG with Cisco's switches and Cisco's consulting in the network design.
