Wintel has always been more accommodating of mediocrity.

carngc: mediocre is defined as average, ordinary. UNIX and wintel were designed for tech wizards, the Mac was the computer "for the rest of us".

So you see, by Apple own's admission, the Mac is the computer for mediocre people (not that there's anything wrong with it).
