Norm, I don't have time to write an essay on why software pricing hasn't gone down like hardware pricing, but I think someone with your knowledge should already understand why *ALL* software pricing (non-Microsoft software, that is) has remained relatively stable.

You did pay for the MacOS 8.0 upgrade from System 7.x.x, right?

Anyway, I'll again assert that it's not just Microsoft software pricing that has been stable. Every software product in the industry from every which company, from utilities to productivity apps to games, has seen stable pricing.
