Greg, My screen showed an unchanged bid price until just before the bell, too. I've seen this before and have suspected it to be lowballing.
Of all the posts I read today, one stood out from the rest (for me). It may have been yours, Greg. It pointed out the 55% increase in R&D that appears on PAIR's earnings report. It grew from $6,158,000 in the prior year qtr to $9.536 in the latest qtr. If R&D hadn't risen, PAIR's earnings would have been 20.6 cents/share diluted [($12,162,000 reported net income + $3,378,000 increased R&D)/75,203,000 shares fully diluted].
Did the consensus estimate reflect this increase in R&D? I'd like to see one analyst's recommendation on PAIR prior to the earnings announcement that showed this increase. 'cause if they didn't factor it in, then PAIR beat the consensus estimate, after adjusting for the increased R&D.
Final thought: as a shareholder, what would you rather see PAIR do with that $3,378,000? Pander to analysts and cut R&D? Or plow cash back into research that will ensure a continued technological edge? |
