The S&P Stock of the Week column is also a feature that is carried in Business Week (one of the best publications out there). However, there seems to be a delay from S&P Personal Wealth site to a recommendation appearing on the Business Week site as the Business Week site still is carrying the prior week's recommendation. Hence, the appearance in Business Week is yet to happen.

Also, if you look at the history of S&P weekly stock picks (available at the Business Week site), the appreciation is over the following weeks and months (i.e., is not simply an immediate bump caused by being picked).

Best regards to all.
Greg

P.S.-The following is the language following each S&P recommendation as to some of their methodology that I have found interesting (especially now that SNRS is involved):

"Stocks of the Week are suggested investment opportunities for potentially large capital gain over a 3 to 12 month horizon. MarketScope picks these stocks from the universe not covered in the S&P STAR system. This means that no S&P analyst currently follows these issues with a buy or sell recommendation. So, you must complete your fundamental analysis and follow future co. developments on your own.

MarketScope picks stocks from a combination of fundamental and technical criteria. Fundamentally, we focus on superior historical sales and EPS growth. We then look for superior 5 year forward growth consensus forecasts and a moderate P/E valuation. High and increasing margins is also a criteria as are cos. with high market shares.

MarketScope's technical screens select stocks based on recognition of favorable chart patterns and high relative strength. We look for stocks breaking out to all-time highs on heavy volume after a price consolidation."
