Last time Intel posted a yty annual decline in earnings
was 1988 to 1989. The drop was about 20%. I see a
similar drop from 97 to 98. I'm sure their were those
who said back in 89 that "intel is no longer a growth
company". <ggg> Look at the next 8 years. If we
need an annual drop in EPS every 5-10 years or so
before we go on to new heights...so be it. From my
perspective Intel's long term prospects have never
looked better. Intel is on course to dominate all high
end platforms in the same way they dominated the
Windows world. The industry leaders realize this and
that's why they are lining up behind Intel."
