Wall Street reaction was mixed on the flat fee. What really got people excited was comment in Wall Street Journal by analyst speculating that for company to write off $460 million to get in line with most conservative accounting method possible, maybe the company was getting in shape for a possible sale. I speculated that AT&T would be the natural fit. First off they have been selling everything not attached. Secondly they have lots of cash but are losing market share to the world. With all the talk of netphone eating into long distance revenue, may be time for T to make bold move into AOL. They already have joint marketing arrangement, right? Anyway all this just thinking out loud.... Which is the purpose of these postings... Right?
