Tom: While you are re-evaluating your opinion about Japan, keep in mind the legendary Japanese savings. I read somewhere that they account for a third of the world's savings. Also, Japan's GDP is 2/3 of the Asian total. They are undoubtedly having economic problems, but I would not count them out. Besides, they have taken some very big hits since the Asian meltdown and before, and they are still here. I wonder how we would survive in similar circumstances.
