<I want Win95 for $50 and Outlook for $50. Then I can spend $50 or $100 as I choose. If Eudora Mail costs $25, I can spend $75 and get an OS and a mail client. Instead, I spend $100 for Win95 + Outlook, and Eudora gets nothing from me. I spend more money, and there's less competition.>

Or you can spend several thousand dollars and get your email and Os on a Unix machine. Or you can spend slightly less and get it on an Apple. The reason you choose MSFT products is because you feel they are the best, otherwise you would be on Apple or Unix, which both cost more. Therefore, Windows is good for the conumer.
