Lucretius Taurus OTOTOT

As your pseudonym suggests, you would like qualities closely associated with what your name means.
Lucretius: Roman poet and philosopher
Taurus: Bull

Lucretius said:
The world , the universe, the man and everything in between, according to Lucretius, are governed by natural laws with particular emphasis to creation and destruction, fear and ignorance ( think FUD) etc.
He understood the atomic nature of things around him. Does the Hindu depiction of Atom and or soul as Atman ring a bell as to their similarity in sound and meaning? One of the differences, I note is that Lucretius does not believe in the transmigration of the soul, but advanced arguments for the mortality of soul. He probably was not aware of recycling: eg: From dust to dust. From soul to Soul .
There are parallels , similarities and divergences between Lucretius' and Hindu thinking. The Hindus believe in Creation being presided and governed by Brahma, and Destruction presided and governed by Shiva. But there is something missing. That something missing is what is between creation and destruction - Life. That life is presided by Vishnu according to Hindus.
According to Lucretius, "gods live apart and are indifferent to man: death is nullity; ambition is perilous and happiness requires withdrawal from worldly affairs and subsists in freedom from pain. The result is unique, a perfect blend of poetry and philosophy."
Compare these Epicurean ideas with Hindu ideas. Death is not nullity, but only a state between destruction and creation. Ambition is perilous: Hindus concur with that.. Happiness requires withdrawal from the world. Hindus call that person as Sanyasin. The state is called Nirvana or liberation.

Since your name implies that you are epicurean and a bull (Taurus) , we DELLHEADS ask you why you are spreading FUD. Did you consider leaving the DELLHEADS alone and withdraw to your world devoid of ambition, but one of nullity, godless indifference, and Nirvana ? Why the bearish stance as opposed to what your name suggests - Taurus the Bull. On the other hand you are welcome to this thread , as you are.
