Dear Mr. Murphy:
RE: Short Selling of DCTC I am a shareholder in your company. I have been very impressed with the commitment of DCTC management to both agressive expansion and dissemination of company information to shareholders in recent months. However, given the very promising acquisitions announced recently and the stock buyback program, why has the price of DCTC remained stagnant? There are rumours on various message boards that DCTC is being shorted in massive quantities by certain market makers. If this is true, what action has DCTC taken to correct the situation?
I will post a copy of this message on various message boards devoted to DCTC and its shareholders. I, along with many other shareholders, look forward to hearing your response to this critical issue
Here is the response:
Thank you for your interest in DCI Telecommunications. DCI has a team of accomplished professionals that provide support services for such problems. We already have Morrow & Co. on retainer. Among other things, Morrow provides stock watch services.
Within restrictions, short selling of a stock is legal and cannot be stopped by a company. If illegal shorts are being conducted, DCI would notify the proper authorities to take action.
The best defense against short selling is for a company to make itself stronger, growth in sales and earnings. The growth should gain recognition within the investment community, sparking interest in the company's stock. A rising stock price should weaken a short position, forcing them to cover the short, thus placing additional upward demand on the stock price. Again thank you for your interest in DCI.
Sincerely, Daniel J. Murphy DCI Telecommunications203/380-0910 |
