Hi Blake: I noticed your observations about Novell and wondered what you would look for in a new CEO and if you might have some names to throw on the table.

As a large money manger, I am sure you have base criteria you use in evaluating companies. One of mine is 'quality' management with a visionary business plan that can generate revenue growth in a solid growing industry sector.

You have probably read some of my posts suggesting that Novell's new management needs to look at creating new sources of revenue. One suggestion was for Novell to leverage off its installed account base and generate a new revenue stream of 'Service Revenue'.

Based on your view (outside looking in), what does the street need to see before they consider Novell a long term growth asset? If there are specifics please list them, as not only would members of this thread be interested, perhaps Novell's board might want to consider Wall Street's criteria before selecting a new CEO.

P.S. I think Bay Network's choice was a good one with long time Intel Corp. executive David House. A great track record. He should be able to deliver some 'kick-a_s' results. It did however take Bay 1/2 year to fill this position....Let's see Frankenberg out in August'96... maybe by the end of January 1997 (90 days and counting).
