Don, I guess that is about 4000 patients treated so far. Hopefully there are some oncologists and patients who can afford it who have tried CHOP plus Rituxan on intermediate grades.
There are now a lot of tumors and people who have been subjected to Rituxan so results should start to be evident by now. I'm looking forwards to the May ASCO podium presentation on CHOP plus Rituxan.
There does seem to be a pent up demand effect with sales sliding down as the less urgent cases are presumably waiting to see results. Maybe they'll hold off and go to Bexxar or Oncolym. With slowly progressing disease, that might be a good strategy.
Personally, I think I'd go for all three, plus, CHOP, radiation and eat a lot of cod liver oil, carrots, brocolli, raw salmon/avocado in seaweed [= sushi = yum!], green tea, Arano [fresh squeezed = very very yum] orange juice, then get an inductively coupled plasma spectrophotometer reading on 35 metals and semi-metals in my blood and see if they are in the 80th percentile - get some chelation for lead, mercury etc and eat some selenium, zinc, iron, etc if they are in short supply. Then go for a swim in the ocean waves, climb a mountain for a beautiful view, dig the garden, play with children, make love, have a good warm sleep. Wake up, all happy and cured! Or not...

PS: Meanwhile, today's a good day to see if I can putt like the Augusta mob. Per Angusta, Ad Augusta = through difficulty to the highest [or so I'm told, being a hayseed who knows little - same as everyone with our pitiful two-eyed view of the absurdly complex world - how the hell do a few subatomic particles stack up into such a monstrosity? How come they don't just stack up like so many marbles? Okay, I'd better go before I get too philosophical and the religious ideologues descend on me with their unsubstantiated conjectures, hierarchies and conflicts. I reckon it is because these particles are more like an infinitely stretchy spiderweb with the main action at the place where we see the "particle". And Webs are able to reach every cranny. This one [puter] I'm on right now reaches a long way with no end in sight. I won't hold an inquisition, bombing, stoning, excommunication or exorcism if others don't think that makes sense.]
Two-eyed view? I know many have none or one eye. Some even have four! Though they invariably have two Siamese heads to go along with that. Two heads are better than one - imagine sitting exams - you study maths, I'll handle the physics and we should do pretty well.
But there is also the inner eye - to make a long story longer. You know how we discuss with ourselves something. Yes, I'll do such and such, then somebody else inside says - hang on here - remember last time we tried that? Hmm. Okay, on second thoughts. Do we have two? We have two brains with an information superhighway between them. Which some doctors have cut!!!! Wow!! Now those unlucky people DO have two brains and two eyes.
Which brings me to cloning. It is currently bad news - fear of 100 Hitlers or some stupid idea. A young lady we know is searching [well others are doing it on her behalf] for bone marrow matching. Wouldn't it be nice to have 10 clones of each person? I'd like it. She might live if she had a clone or three. Of course, some people would rather she die. You know who you are. Bill Clinton for one. Probably that great monopolist on power - Janet Reno too.
Okay, rant over. Over and out! |
