I haven't given the thought of a possible merger or buy-out any thought. I suppose it can happen, but I just can't see speculating on such a thing. I agree w/ you there.
But to address the idea of valuation, I've been sufficiently happy with their revuenue and earnings growth to allow some comfort w/ the valuation (even before the latest decline). Having their products incorportated in Compaq and Microsoft packages (as well as others) represents a lot of units to be sold. I don't mind having the stock trade at a PE of 40-50 if earnings growth is 40% - 50% or more.
Once again, we have been prepped for a couple of quarters that will not likely see earnings growth, but looking beyond that, I don't currently see anything that makes me think that the earnings growth rate can't be reached again or even surpassed.
