Gary & Eric, I'm wondering about root causes. Do you think there's a chance that AT&T may have had overloaded systems (beyond recommended capacities) that could have triggered a fault in some surrounding element. (The idea is similar to the power outage that affected the northeast some years back with a total brown out, because of a trigger switch in a Niagra Falls relay station... James Burke's "Connections" describes the event). Anyway, what I'm thinking is that CSCO & AT&T will find the root cause, and recommendations will be made about capacities, overloads, and prevention mechanisms. Bottom line, any "skimping" on required resources will be strongly discouraged. Just a thought. Laura
