It is not how the market reacted to the CSCO news today it is the seed sown in the customer's memory that this is a company that makes mistakes and so can not be fully trusted. The pristine image is gone now forever. The high profile of what has happened has burned into the memory of customers for ever. Who doesn't remember the Audi fiasco or the Alar scare, the Ford Pinto or poisoned grapes? All proved to be without merit but the high visibility made it a part of culture not quick to be forgotten. Do you ever walk into Jack-In-The-Box and not think of e-coli? The pedestal is not as high now for CSCO and all the players competing in that arena have moved up one big credibility rung. Go ask the people at Wells Fargo if they have the same confidence in CSCO today as last week, NOT. <GGG> Steve
