I own and follow AMHD. I appreciate very much your comments and confidence in the Co. I have bought down. First BOT 4/97 at 5+, then 9/97 at 3, then 1/98 at 1 5/8. My wife and I visited the co. in Jan. We were favorably impressed although it is a very small co. Pat showed us around. I have talked to Mike on the phone last yr. and also several times to their IR rep. Ed Schuchardt. I like what I have seen about Pat and Mike. I believe they are frugal and level-headed. We use their "Sentry Guard" odor eliminator in our cat litter box and it really works. It is expensive and I was told quite profitable. This is esentually the only product sold at Wal-Mart and K-Mart. They have not chosen to advertise it to the public because of the high costs. Their cat litter is only sold in CA I believe. We tried it and wasn't overly impressed. I have felt like suggesting that they try to contract with a litter mfgr. to add the "Sentry Guard" or to sell it to them to add. It does work well. I don't know how good their sales reps are about expanding their product lines into nursing homes, etc. They do have a lot of potential. I think they are expanding slowly so as not to get highly leveraged. I think this is prudent. I am a long term investor and plan to hold for years. They will either make it or they won't! I am betting that they will . It does take a tremendous amount of patience. I think that there is a tremendous problem with small stocks, especially BB stocks! I got involved with several and have lost money on most. Like AMHD,which was over $10 and now they are doing a lot better, they are < 1/3 the price. I own another that was over $7 on the concept alone, and now that they are growing at 10% per mo., they are $0.53! Another I got into because of the stupid "Rumor Mill" went to $15 and now they say they will be profitably this yr., they are $1 and change! It seems to me that micro-caps are really out of favor. The way to have made money in this overvalued mkt. is to buy the overvalued blue chips (large caps) and watch them get more overvalued. I own some of these also. With AMHD the biosludge treatment is the key. I just hope they are able to sell a lot. I have no idea how well this will work out. They also need to eventually treat their own alumina instead of hauling it to a convertor. Doing this will require probably a lot of capital and a lot of environmental permits, etc. Phosphoric acid is toxic and corrosive. Your comments and anyone else's will be appreciated. I personally think you need a long time frame with these type of companies, but what is frustrating is their volatility. Once they run up, they are subject to a huge correction. Maybe you are better off putting a small amount in and forgetting about it for several years! |
