Here's an interesting tidbit. The Gateway G6-400 and Dell Dimension XPS R400 use the EXACT SAME MOTHERBOARD. Designed by... Intel. The meat of the BIOS for speed configuration.... again, Intel. The GTW and Dell system also use the EXACT same Video subsystem. Both use UDMA hard drives. These machines are functionally identical in almost every category. It's the bells, whistles, price and chassis that differentiate them. The article concludes this... The Dimension XPS R400 was a middle-of-the-pack performer, earning a WinScore of 211. The Gateway 2000 G6-400 outscored the Dimension XPS R400 in every performance category Now, explain to me how two systems with virtually identical hardware and basic BIOS can score very differently in WinScore performance categories. Hmmm. To be sure, In the second paragraph... they refer to it as the "Deskpro XPS 400" MEATHEAD
