Lucretius, not every CEO talks that way. It seems to me that we've heard warnings from INTC and CPQ. I think that Grove or Pfeiffer are telling the truth as they see it, and I believe that Michael Dell is also telling the truth as he sees it. If you recall (in the case of Compaq) that Mason came out with a fairly rosy picture which was promptly corrected by Pfeiffer. This is very important in a CEO. This failure to communicate the truth has gotten Mory Eijabat of ASND and Wiggins of OXHP in a lot of trouble. I am certain these lessons have not been lost on Michael Dell. Last quarter many people were skeptical of M. Dell's bullish stance. As I recall it, it turned out that his comments were, if anything conservative. TTFN, CTC
