I disagree for they are not the same. It is a matter of interpretation. I do not see where the figs were of different species only those first ripen and those that were overly ripe and rotting. How can you bring in a horticulture scenario? I do not see that implied anywhere. The Jeremiah scripture is about people being figs and how they are viewed by the Lord based on their belief and actions. I do not see the Jewish slam within the scriptures.

Just my opinon. I never realized the bigotry against the Jews were so overwhelming. I am amazed to be honest with you.
