Nice thought... Wrong kind of wireless though--digital telephone stuff. A new CAWS thread hoping fornew luck I see. I guess it is on to the new and out with the old. Goodbye Cable Modem Killers (funny though, cable modems haven't made any money; why would we want to kill them? They haven't started breathing.)

Bell Atlantic Chief Predicts
Rise in Capital Spending

BOSTON -- Bell Atlantic Corp. Chairman Raymond W. Smith said capital spending in the year following the Philadelphia
company's planned merger with Nynex Corp. would rise to between $6 billion and $7 billion a year, as the companies ramp
up investment in wireless communications.

Mr. Smith told businessmen at a Boston College-sponsored lunch that the merger would add investment and jobs and bring
high-speed digital phone capacity to areas served by the companies more quickly.

Mr. Smith said combined capital spending at Nynex and Bell Atlantic this year was about $5.9 billion. That includes $900
million on cellular communications.

Next year, he said the companies would spend $1 billion or $2 billion on cellular as part of capital spending that would also
include upgrades to fiber-optic capacity, switches, digital-transmission and the company's in-house
