Thanks for making that point Colin. While yes, the IRS has abused their authority over the years, and made life miserable for countless people, most of us lose sight of where the problem lies. And that is with our elected officials, whom we don't hold accountable for the laws that THEY pass.

Every single tax law on the books was drafted and passed by our House and Senate politicos, and passed into law by the President's signature. And the majority of those laws have their genesis in the special interest lobbyists that have an agenda to benefit their clients. Indeed, the laws are often actually drafted (written) by the lobbyists, and sometimes pass through the labyrinth unchanged.

We have no one to blame but ourselves for the tax laws. They are passed by OUR elected officials.
