Albert, What would happen when only a few Intel janitors take early retirement and the balance came from R&D staffs and designers? I know asking for volunteers does not work. An ex-IBMer left and join AMD to and became a key VP (chief scientist) and startup the AMD's R&D center. People have no talents will stay. Those that have will take the fat bonus money and well deserved long vacations before going back to work.
