Excuse me for interrupting, but I thought perhaps I would comment on Datek instead of rights. The way I understand it is that there is no All Or Nothing capability because of Island, not just because Datek doesn't care to add such a feature. Granted, Datek and Island are closely related, but I wouldn't expect to see a change here.
On the other hand, the actions taken recently with regard to the express servers is a little ridiculous. Their intentions were good, in fact very good, in adding a second express server. This is the kind of improvement we should all be cheering. What I don't understand is the fact that they took orders7 off the MCI connection and effectively cut it's speed by a high percentage. The new server, orders16, is not any faster either. In fact I cannot even do a tracert to that server since it always times out, and it has been that way all week. I have the feeling that we now have two slow express servers instead of one fast one, at least as far as the internet connection is concerned. Peter, how about putting one of these back on MCI? We promise not to complain when the new IP address doesn't get to our DNS, like the problem that had people screaming on Monday when they thought they couldn't get to the express servers at all. One last thought on this subject, I called the phone support line on Monday when the express server seemed to have disappeared and chose the "help logging on" option, even though I was sure that was for beginners. The person who answered immediately explained what had happened, and gave me the IP addresses to both the new servers. I couldn't have gotten better help. |
