"Knock knock... anyone with Brain Home Here?!
CNWK IS NOT A SEARCH ENGINE SITE!

It's a collection of content sites easially
duplicated by other media companies with
MUCH DEEPER pockets and abilities. CNWK
used to be an internet technology/layout
play, now it's just plain in play by MM's
with little better to do than bid up any
thing internet related whether it merits
the investors attention or not."

Geez you're a nasty one. Did I fail to note the differences? Sorry.

FWIW, when I watch in wonder at the rise in YHOO and SEEK etc., I see value there. I agree, CNWK is rising primarily due to the fact that they are a somewhat familiar name with a business *related to* the business of the others. Just an inference, but if you think that YHOO is just a search engine, think again. E.g., their email program (all web-based) is virtually as fully-featured as Eudora (has all the critical, intelligent features anyway). As for CNWK, unless you've got knowledge I do not, I disagree with your statement that the bidding is being done by MM's. It's being done by individuals and institutions who have decided (and are currently deciding day by day) that to be known on the web is a big strength for future business (and ultimate profitability).

As for whether or not CNWK is a search engine, they are a search starting point (powered by Infoseek I see). So they just have a different cover (and pay for the search service no doubt). Easy duplication, yes. Easy to say "Easy duplication", yes. Easy to get the number of hits Snap does? Big advertising bucks are required for newcomers, and there will no doubt be some the way this is starting to play out.

As for making money in the face of the bidding up of internet companies, what's your plan? Long, short, stay away? I can't say CNWK is my most comfortable (or even a significant) holding, but if the stock rise jump-starts the business, that'll be a good thing for them. From what little I've seen of their site, they have a ways to go. Speeding up their response would not be a bad start.
