Good! The sooner the better. Intel's "entry" into the enterprise
market is a chip that was originally designed by HP, now known
as "Merced" &, since the deal between SUNW & INTC late last year,
it's going to run 64-bit Solaris.

BTW, just a week or so ago, SUNW inked another deal with Fujitsu
to market the enterprise machine with Intel chips under the
Fujitsu name (which includes Amdahl).

MSFT isn't even in the running, as they still fumble around with
their 32-bit version of NT. The best BG can do is make noises
about how he "plans on making a 64-bit version of NT" (someday).

Eat your heart out, SUNW is king of the hill in the enterprise
market & INTC is going to help them stay there.
