Janice, weak argument, and their are millions of men who still love and respect their father who whipped or spank them occasionally.

You can always find individual examples to support a personal belief. The only point I was trying to make is it should be left up to the parents and not the government to decide what is right for their teenagers.

There is an excuse. It is their teenager, the parents are responsible for his/her upbringing. They simply have different belief's than you or I. Although I would look the other way, I would hope to never exercise that sort of behavior myself.

Same with the people of Singapore. Which by the way has one of the lowest levels of teenage crimes in the world. I feel pretty certain some of it is because of the physical punishment involved.

A village doesn't raise a child. Parents do.
