Tom Kurlak feels that the world semiconductor growth is going to slow down sharply. During the last 3 months, he has repeatedly commented on the fact that the Semi manufacturers have been discounting the slowdown in sales as a temporary blimp. All his indicators and his people in Japan and Korea have been reiterating that things are only getting worse but yet the semi management is projecting a better second half. He does not see any evidence of that.

With a 20% reduction in earnings, I would have expected a pullback in TXN. But DMG upgraded the stock. And CNBC was saying that the earnings of 44 cents represent an upside surprise of 11 cents. When I look at the First Call numbers, I see an average of 44 cents. Where did CNBC come up with 33 cent for the expected eps? We may have not escaped the wrath of Kurlak yet. Watch the number of May 55 puts traded as compared to the May 55 calls.

Please be aware that this is just my understanding of what TK has been saying.

Good Luck.
