Heheheheh - yeah, that's a real retro, man. Couple of years ago, I got interested in the California VW hot-rod scene. They make these wild SandRails with outrageous engines and stuff. All the parts are really cool, machined stuff like the beautiful racing parts they make for motorcycles.
There's a big market in these AC Cobra replicars - "Kit Cars". And there's a couple of truly fine replicas of the original Porsche 550 Spyder, Tommy - not this new thingy that they sell, but a wild-ass, 200 HP / 1400 pound, 2-liter Spyder. You can get the complete, built-up rig (sans engine) for about $22K, and then simply stick a built-up engine in it for another $5K - et voila !
Totally impractical. Would love to have one (^_^)
