Integrity Deploys High-Speed Modems on Formus LMDS System
RICHMOND, Va., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Integrity Communications, Inc. deployed its high-speed broadband modem technology on an LMDS (Local Multipoint Distribution Service) network for long-term evaluation in Denver, CO on April 9. Integrity modems were integrated with Millitech Corp.'s LMDS transceivers at Formus Communications, Inc., a holder of LMDS spectrum both in the U.S. and abroad.
The integrated technology provides a link for two-way premium high-speed data services at rates many times faster than conventional T1-based services. Formus is using this open-air LMDS link as an interoffice LAN-to-LAN bridge. "We are very pleased with the Integrity product for a number of reasons: ease of setup, stability, and perhaps most importantly, the way their product design supports our business plans," said Formus Chief Technical Officer Ray Nettleton.
According to Dr. Nettleton, international demand for LAN-to-LAN bridging and dedicated high-speed Internet access for businesses and multi-dwelling units is extremely high.
