Robert, My idea is that Christ's work on the cross made it possible for anyone to have a spiritual resurrection, testified to by His resurrection. As each is born again(resurrected from the spiritually dead, the state of Adam who lost the Holy Spirit, and fell from the image of God), the Holy Spirit is regenerated in him and he is created in Christ Jesus, a new creature(creation)(Titus 3:5-7; 2 Cor 5:17) . At this time a person comes into Christ, and so to speak reigns with Him. "Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come." (2 Cor 5:17 NASB)
This new creation , simply stated, consists of two natures, Adamic and Devine.
"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?" (1 Cor 6:19 NKJV)
"by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." (2 Pet 1:4 NKJV)
"For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation." (Gal 6:15 NKJV)
What I am trying to say is that at the time of our new birth into Christ we become part of Him and He becomes part of us.
Sorry this got a little long.
Can a man love God, and not love his brother?
In Christ,
David
