SASKTEL INTRODUCES INTERACTIVE TECHNOLOGY CENTRE AND CANADA'S FIRST COMMERCIAL HIGH SPEED INTERNET SERVICE

REGINA....SaskTel today announced the grand opening of the SaskTel Interactive Centre, the first innovative technology centre in Saskatchewan allowing customers to experience cutting-edge, high-speed technology developed by SaskTel.
In conjunction with the Interactive Centre announcement is the introduction of Sympatico High Speed, the first commercial high speed Internet service which includes: service delivery 50 times faster than Sympatico, dealer support and affordability. Sympatico High Speed also provides simultaneous phone conversations and Internet access on one phone line. As an introductory service, Sympatico High Speed will be initially offered in certain areas of Regina and Saskatoon, to residential customers. Initial pricing is $69.95 a month for unlimited usage for one year, available until December 31, 1996. A $99.00 installation fee applies.
The Interactive Centre will demonstrate home and business-based applications including Sympatico and QuantumLynx Solutions. SaskTel has created an Advanced Interactive Solutions (AIS) department to develop, manage and market these leading-edge technologies.

"Customers are always looking for convenient ways to access the wealth of information on the Internet, and SaskTel is offering the services that meet these needs.
The public can visit the centre and use the technology from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. The Interactive centre is located at SaskTel Head Office, Main Floor, 2121 Saskatchewan Drive, Regina.

Sympatico High Speed - offers high speed Internet access at 50 times faster than Sympatico, and allows simultaneous phone conversations and Internet use on one phone line. As an introductory service, Sympatico High Speec is initially priced at $69.95 a month for unlimited usage for one year, if customers sign up by December 31, 1996.
Sympatico - provides consumer customers with access to the Internet through Netscape Navigator software and e-mail, for business/personal communication, newsgroups, world wide web and access to national/local content through the Sympatico site. Two pricing options are available: Occasional for $9.95 a month for 5 hours, or Regular for $24.95 a month for 60 hours. Each additional hour is $1.50.
QuantumLynx Solutions - enables business customers to cost effectively carry out business applications and exchange privileged information by using the Internet and Intranet technologies. Applications include: QuantumLynx Online, Security, Internet and Intranet.
Media and Transaction Solutions - for consumer and business customers offers web hosting, web publishing, media services (e.g. cyberzines, chat forums and advertising), and transaction services (e.g. secure credit card transactions, cybermalls, classified advertising).
