Many high quality foreign companies are listed in Nasdaq and Nyse in the form of ADRs or GDRs. Check up the website bankofny.com for a complete list. The most cost effective way is to trade ADRs via internet trading firms in USA like Datek or Discover. If you want more details on how to do more interesting things with ADRs; just drop me a note at frank.hsu@sympatico.ca.
