thanks for your message. Your message is the only one which hit yesterday after the ones I posted, it seems I have posted to much in too short a time so I'll pull out the stops here.

I agree with your point on the Lexar lawsuit, though this one seems a lot more tricky and could be part of the IP strategy more than the outcome of a real infringement.

As regards Intel and Toshiba's competing flash cards, miniature card and smart media I do not agree with you. Intel has been here for a long time (since 1996) and never convinced many OEMs. The battle is almost lost for them even with their muscle, of course it is just my opinion. Just try to give example of 5 (well-known) gizmos using miniature cards!

The competition from Toshiba has been VERY serious in 1997 but they lack SmartMediaCards with a decent capacity, i.e. over 8MB.
This is The point as a great portion of cards sold this year will use high capacity cards. The only solution is to use SanDisk's CF cards.
Therefore I said SanDisk does not have any competition yet in this area.
