Earnings Plays watch list for April 20-24.. (long post, please print)
Every one of the following stocks has been checked for strong fundamentals, but I didn't want to repeat the analysis. I did, however, include some of the technical analysis, since the technicals are different for all the stocks. Some of them are so strong as to be quite enough for the entire week (See the ones for Wednesday especially)..
The report I researched included 30 pages with about 3,000 stocks. Fortunately, the list will be smaller and smaller in the next few weeks. This is the biggest earnings week of this quarter.
In the future I will have longer analysis of a smaller amount of stocks, but I didn't want to leave out some potential good plays.
Look these over, give me feedback if you think I've overlooked something important or if you have anything to add to further strengthen some of the choices.

AHM..(MACD) looks BULLISH
MFI indicates the stock is under ACCUMULATION
Moving averages 10 and 21 bearish. Good fundamentals
4> RL - POLO RALPH LAUREN CORP CL A .RSP
Stochastics show OVERSOLD, but chart could turn around. Good fundamentals.
5> CHRZ - COMPUTER HORIZONS CORP COM .DSE
(MACD) is BEARISH .
Relative Strength is NEUTRAL while the MFI is high. Could be indications of trend reversal
MFI show stock is under DISTRIBUTION
Stochastics indicate stock is OVERBOUGHT
6> THQI - T* H Q INC COM .LTG
Stochastics show stock is OVERBOUGHT.. watch it.

Stochastics OVERBOUGHT, MACD, and relative strength BULLISH. Watch.. Good funaamentals

Stochastic OVERBOUGHT, other indicators BULLISH, MFI shows stock is under DISTRIBUTION
9> OCR - OMNICARE INC COM .HHC
under DISTRIBUTION, MACD is BEARISH while Relative Strength is BULLISH

MACD BULLISH, not a bad chart, could change at any time. Watch it.

Relative Strength is NEUTRAL, chart can change. Support at 57 . Resistance at 67
12> RHI - ROBERT HALF INTL INC COM .SER
Very nice Chart. Strong Upward trend.. and good fundamentals.. I like this one a lot.
13> TLAB - TELLABS INC COM .TES
Good company. A bit OVERBOUGHT though chart is very good.
16> RCL - ROYAL CARIBBEAN CRUISES COM .LTR
very good chart. Very good company.. perhaps another CCL?
17> LCE - LONE STAR INDUSTRIES INC COM .BBC
STOCK broke DOUBLE TOP (Bullish) Point & Figure Chart Formation Yesterday. A little overbought, otherwise this chart show a very strong upward trend.. exceptional fundamentals
18> CTXS - CITRIX SYSTEMS INC COM .DCS
A little OVERBOUGHT, other wise strong chart.. good fundamental strength.
19> EESI - EASTERN ENVIRONMENTAL SVC COM .POL
OVERBOUGHT.. MACD is BULLISH and stock's MFI shows it's in DISTRIBUTION.

Very good chart, starting to gather strength.
2> VMSI - VENTANA MEDICAL SYS INC COM .MED
Price/Cash Flow Ratio, Price/Sales extremely high. Very high EPS growth last quarter
and looking forward as well. Chart a bit weaker.
3> EFTC - E F T C CORP COM .ELE
This stock is another perfect melding of fundamentals/technicals EPS growth extremely high.
Has been upgraded. A bit OVERBOUGHT but a good buy.
4> HONI - HON INDUSTRIES INC COM .OFU
Stock's performance has lagged in the last few weeks, but has 4 surprises in last 4 quarters. Velocity is above average. Not a screaming buy but could change course before earnings.
5> PSFT - PEOPLESOFT INC COM .DSO
Stock is very strong. A STRONG BUY. with EPS growth in the 99th percentile..4 earnings surprises. A perfect melding of fundamentals/technicals.
6> LADF - LADD FURNITURE INC COM .HFU
Fundamentals are very good,
Price is under SUPPORT of 22.12 which is BEARISH but the other indicators are BULLISH
7> AXNT - AXENT TECHNOLOGIES INC COM .DSO
BULLISH chart.. stock is in a strong upward trend. 4 earnings surprises in last 4 quarters.Group Rank and ERG are extremely high.. I like this one.
8> DAYR - DAY RUNNER INC COM .PAP
Sector is in favor. ERG to top 10% for all stocks. EPS changed upward in last 30 days.
9>LEVL - LEVEL ONE COMM INC COM .ECC
can't be better than this one for EPS growth, Price Rank, Sector is coming into favor.Stochastics Brkout 9/3 Dy, High ERG, Sales Growth. Stochastics indicate stock is OVERBOUGHT but other indicators are still strong.
10>DTPI - DIAMOND TECH PARTNERS INC CL .SER
Stochastics indicate stock is OVERBOUGHT but other indicators are strong. Strong fundamentals/technicals mark this stock as a good bet.
12> ONE - C ONE CORP OHIO COM .BAN
Stochastics indicate stock is OVERSOLD.. This stock is probably best as an intermediate hold, since the earnings are projected to be high going forward to the next few quarters. Still looks good.
13> DHI - D R HORTON INC COM .BHO
Price is under SUPPORT of 21.75 which is bearish. Other indicators are bearish, but I think
the trend of this stock will reverse for earnings. Earnings are stable.. 5 quarters of accelerating earnings growth. ERG strong but slightly deteriorating.. This stock is a good bet for short/intermediate/long term.
14> HRC - HEALTHSOUTH CORP COM .HEA
EPS growth is high sector is coming into favor
Another good melding of technical/fundamental strength. A nice stock and a good bet.
15> REMX - REMEDYTEMP INC CL A .SER
REMX is a good stock with high fundamentals. Slightly overbought should be watched.
16> ALK - ALASKA AIR GROUP INC COM .ATR
ALK is overbought, but fundamentals are very high.. EPS outlook upgraded in last 30 days. Sector coming back into favor. Very good company. Accumulation very high.

good company.. technicals a bit week.. expect to reverse before earnings.

One of my favorites.. A bit overbought. Though strong.

nice HRZ did very well
8> ZBRA - ZEBRA TECHNOLOGIES CORP COM .DCS
STRONG BUY. Support at 37.25
Resistance AT 38.50.. I like this one.
9> MSPG - MINDSPRING ENTRPRS INC COM .DSE
Has been on a roll. I like it a lot. Buy it, keep it.. I'm planning to add this to my long term portfolio. At least I expect it to be as high as AOL.
11> LU - LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES INC COM .TES
PRICE IS UNDER SUPPORT OF 68.98 WHICH IS BEARISH,
but a strong stock..
12> ACAI - ATLANTIC COAST AIRLINES COM .ATR
Great stock. OVERBOUGHT .. Should be watched, indicators are very mixed, showing both bearish and bullish signals.
13> FFGI - FOREFRONT GROUP INC COM .DSO
PRICE IS UNDER SUPPORT OF 15.32 WHICH IS BEARISH.
Good company.
14> CHKPF - CHECK POINT SFTWR TECH COM .DSO
Very good stock, has to be watched. Beginning to be accumulated.. should reverse trend. Expected to grow at the rate of 47% a year for the next 3-5 years. Price is under support of 38.75 which is bearish
Resistance is at 41.38
15> JAII - JOHNSTOWN AMERICA IND INC COM .REQ
One of my favorites. STRONG BUY great stock.

Stochastics are OVERBOUGHT, but this is a strong stock.

Upgraded.. strong fundamentals/technical.

good stock.. strong. What I especially like about this stock is improved earnings acceleration going forward, Price/Cash Flow Ratio that is very high. Another nice assimilations of good fundamentals/techical.

good fundamentals but technicals deteriorating, should be watched.
5> TAN - TANDY CORP COM .RSP
Great stock, OVERBOUGHT.. should be watched.
6> HCFP - HEALTHCARE FNCL PTNRS INC COM .FSE
Very strong fundamentals. OVERBOUGHT, and trend deteriorating but could come back by report date.
7> WIRE - ENCORE WIRE CORP COM .ELE
Very good chart, good fundamentals. Price is above Resistance OF 32.3/8 which is BULLISH.
This is OVERBOUGHT, although still strong indicators.
This post will be reprinted in .pdf and .html format to be easier to locate and more pleasing to the eye. At this time however, I decided speed was more important than appearance. Some of these will be amended in the next week, but they will be followed/analysed throughout the week. Some of them will never be BUYS, while others can become buys days before they report. Some of them have triple digit growth projected and could see very good gains. Some of the ones I labelled OVERBOUGHT are still BUYS (when indicated) and could still make good gains. Remember OVERBOUGHT.. does not preclude it as an 'earnings play' rather the opposite is true. So suspend your stringent TA analysis for some of them. I would say a balance of 60/40 for FA/TA is a good balance.
A good portion of them will be enough for you for the entire week, but I decided to include a nice amount since some of my 'watch list alternates' last week turned out to be good (i.e. WY, IP, AAPL, TXN)
