Greetings David, Thank you for your response. I concur with you completely and agree we are both believing the same with regard to the Holy scriptures as per our last responses to each other. Blessed are you David to see these basic truths by the Holy Spirit. May our Father continue to grant you His grace and wisdom with your relationship with Mike and cause Mike to see the risen Christ, Jesus, who rules now as King of Kings and Lord of Lords over all creation. As to your question, << Can a man love God and not his brother >>, I would have to say absolutely NO. I understand that love is not primarily a feeling which is natural among mankind, but is rather a CHOICE that each one of us makes along the road of life. The Lord Jesus Christ gave us a perfect example of this conflict between feelings and choice the night before His crucifiction, in the garden of Gethsemane. In His humaness when He contemplated the sufferings and agony that lay ahead of Him , His feelings wanted to scuttle His Fathers plan of Salvation. However, after earnest prayer, He made a choice regardless of the physical and emotional turmoil to do His Fathers will. We, as children of God, David, are constantly presented with situations that require us to make choices according to scriptures which in most cases bring about many mixed feelings which would try to cause us to take the easy path. The Eternal Life that we have received will always point us to the cross and the " dying of self ". Blessed be the Lord most High that He has revealed His Son in us forevermore. I trust this helps with how I perceive that the scriptures teach that love is a choice not a feeling. May grace and peace abound to you and your family this day and forevermore. Robert
