To William H. Torrence, Jr.;

I posted twice yesterday giving my response to this question.

(1) Much of dec's profits one time gain and sales were down;

(2) DEC's good news or bad news will not impact price due to merger (See my more detailed response yesterday afternoon EST)

(3) All eyes are on cpq not dec. cpq is pied piper of share pricing between dec and cpq, again due to merger. CPQ stock cannot, will not and should not move up or down based on developments with dec at this time. Why? First and foremost is uncertainty remaining with merger. In other words it aint over till the fat lady sings. At this point as far as cpq is concerned, cpq and dec are two separate companies. However, the inverse is not true - as far as dec is concerned, cpq and dec are joined at the hip (due to arbitragers)
