Brian; It is not clear how level the play field was?, All other things being equal the new P-II will beat the others. So I must conclude they have a faster video and disk I/O system in the lesser systems that is seen by the bench mark progs as faster. Benchmark cooking is an active field and article have been written on how to make a 166MMX beat a 300 MHZ P-II, all you have to do is strangle the P-II a little. I offer for sale a 500 Mhx P-II MMX-III sticker that anyone who is into badge racing. You stick it on an old Apple II+ and impress some folks. I have a friend like that, buys a new top line box twice a year. All from components, always wants the fastest etc. He has the money, and I get the old mother boards etc for a deal price when he upgrades. Of course as a wholesale buyer I get him the stuff at cost, so it is a quid quo pro. Bill
