probably never be able to get a handle on the
earnings of TDFX. I'm sure they are all scratching
their heads trying to figure out why they sell so
many cards, when the companys who their products
work on are having a rough time.
A couple of reasons are, Warez and CDR. I can download
any game i want, everything is pirated now. CDR,Copies
of games are getting burned by plenty of people every
day. One thing about people who either pirate or copy
games is they have to buy 3D graphic cards. They
can all afford to buy the latest best toys, because they
aren't spending 100's of buck on games.
I do buy my games,but from the DD i've done there are
plenty of people who don't. Unless the game companys
fix this problem, which i doubt they can, TDFX is just
going to snowball along. It's the pirates and gamers
choice. If you have something to show off and you are
a pirate or serious gamer(not joe blow who plays Myst) showing a game running on anything else besides on a Voodoo will get a big
yawn.
It's a strange way to look at revenues etc, but it's a nice
grey area i can live with. IMO
