Ramsey, of course you are correct.

I am not aware of this having become an issue. It seems that generally high tech companies are let off the hook when their systems fail (recent Cisco routers failing at ATT, for example). I do recall class action suits against AOL when their system went down, led by the state of New York.

RTOS, however, is a different situation than windows 95 on your children's pc.

You can bet that while Msft may not be worried about liability, the companies that make the products MUST be concerned. That is why they would pick the same RTOS that NASA picked to fly to Mars.

The lawyers will see a gold mine here.
