I can't speak for tony but I'll state that I don't believe he trashes LGND as a company. He has clearly stated that lgnd is a good trading stock and has yet to demonstrate any real long term value. Unless you have previous posts of him specifically ripping lgnds science or harshly criticizing lgnd as a company, I think everyone should be a little more objective in analyzing this stock. BTW, I am long about 800 shares. I believe that lgnd is a unique company that offers significant upside if their drugs pan out. And hopefully they will pan out.
