I think you've read more into my description of "loose apples" than I intended. I wasn't making any implication as to the talent level of people that may or may not leave Bay, nor people that may leave other company's to come to Bay.
However, my point was that if there are any individuals who were doubting the company or questioning their and the company's future, an event such as this might push them over the edge, so to speak, and they'd finally decide to leave.
To the point I think you were trying to make, an event like this will not shakeout "deadwood" that may or may not be accumulating in areas. Deadwood will remain on the tree until it is pruned, which does occur.
As an aside, you do know that your email address is shown in your user profile right? I should swing by your building for a beer this evening... How is life, these days, in 600TP?
